Obituary of Barbara Ann Cochran

Barbara Ann "Barb" Cochran, 76, of State College, passed away on Sunday, March 17, 2024, at home surrounded by her loving family.

Born August 17, 1947, in Clearfield, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth T. and Jean Ann (Logan) Garman. On November 22, 1969 she married Richard Cochran, who survives.

She is survived by her daughters, Christine Beish (Lisa Shaffer) of Charleston WV; Betty Jean Weaver (Steven Schweitzer) of Boalsburg and brother, Kenneth T. Garman of Pelahatchie, MS; sister, Linda Richards (Mike) of Mays Landing, NJ; two grandchildren, Nate and Olivia Weaver both of State College. Her sister, Mary Kay Mierley, preceded her in death in 2015.

Barb graduated from Clearfield High School in 1965. After graduation and throughout her life, she worked various jobs, but her true passions were her faith and her family and that is what she dedicated her life to. Barbara was an active member at Faith Baptist Church and the Gideons Auxiliary. She was an amazing wife, mother, sister and friend, but her very favorite role was Grandma.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, March 21, 2024 at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 S. Atherton St., State College, PA.

Family and friends will also be received from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m., Friday, March 22, at Faith Baptist Church, 647 Valley Vista Dr., State College. Funeral service will follow with Pastor Drew Fenstermacher officiating.

Burial will be in Centre County Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in remembrance of Barbara to Interfaith Human Services, 251 Easterly Parkway, Suite 200, State College, PA 16801.
