As we continue discussing our theme of Serenading Comfort, I think of a recent car ride with my husband. We were on the back roads near Mercersburg, Pennsylvania, and he noticed a business sign with the message, Trees let go of leaves for a reason. It made me think of the need of mourners to begin to let go of certain aspects of the grief journey. We never let go of our loved ones, but little by little, we might notice that we would like to let go of certain aspects of our pain, perhaps our regrets, guilt, and shame. Serenading comfort comes our way as we lighten our load of pain.
