I ended last week’s post about “The Risk of Love Is Loss” with the comment that being wholly human is experiencing the full spectrum of life’s emotions and looking for hope, beauty, and transformation in the process. As I sit in various grief education and support gatherings, this concept of what it means to be human keeps coming to my mind. I hear courageous stories of loss and watch people connect on deep levels. I see people who would rather have their loved ones back recognize changes in themselves, like having more compassion. I see the beauty and the pain of the human experience. The risk of love is loss; it is part of the tapestry of our lives.
