For those of you celebrating today, Happy St. Patricks Day! I read that one of the lessons St. Patrick taught was to meet people where they are. That lesson fits with our discussion this week about Befriending Anger using the letters of anger. G stands for gather. Meet yourself where you are with your anger and gather practices and tools to help you move with it. Possible practices include journaling, talking to someone, going for a walk, bringing relaxation to the parts of your body feeling the anger, riding anger like a wave knowing it will eventually wane, etc. There are countless ways to move your anger and it helps to have options at your fingertips.
