Charles Joseph Edmondson, Sr.

Charles Joseph Edmondson, Sr., 73, of Pleasant Gap, formerly Myrtle Beach, SC. died at his residence on Sunday May 27, 2012. He was born in Renovo on September 13, 1938 the son of the late Clarence Edward and Mary Magdalene Kulka Edmondson.

Charles was a graduate of St. Joseph's High School in Renovo, PA and served in the United States Army from 1956 thru 1959. Beginning in 1968, he was employed at HRB Singer and retired from Raytheon as a Section Manager in the computer engineering department. He was a member of Our Lady Victory Catholic Church, State College. Charles was a certified ham radio operator, an expert piano player, and enjoyed hunting fishing and the outdoors.

Charles is survived by three daughters, Mary Elizabeth Gell and her husband Timothy of Greene, NY, JoAnne Edmondson of State College, and Barbara Edmondson of Las Vegas, NV, and two sons Michael C. Edmondson and his wife Jacqueline and Charles J. Edmondson, Jr. and his wife Bridgette all of State College. He is also survived by twelve grand children Kurt Vinhage, Paul Vinhage, Timothy Gell, Michael Gell, Frank Gallagher, Nicholas Gallagher, Joshua Gallagher, Megan Gallagher, Jacob Edmondson, Luke Edmondson, Asher Edmondson and Connor Edmondson, and two sisters, Mary Theresa Hartsock and her husband G. Dale of Buffalo, NY and Kathleen Shue of Clifton Park, NY. Friends will be received at the Koch Funeral Home 2401 S Atherton St. State College on Wednesday May 30, 2012 from 6 to 8 p.m. The funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church on Thursday May 31,2012 at 10:30 a.m. with Monsignor David A. Lockard officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Hyner. Memorial contributions may be made to: St. Michael Catholic Church, 572 Cypress Ave., Murrells Inlet, S.C. 29576
