Earl Woodrow Ripka Jr.

Earl Woodrow Ripka Jr. “Woodie”, 68, of State College, died Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at Mount Nittany Medical Center, State College.

Born February 21, 1944, in Lewistown, he was a son of the late Earl W. and Emma Gross Ripka. He was reared by his grandparents, Lloyd E and Nannie Moore Ripka, of Pine Grove Mills, who preceded him in death.

He is survived by a sister, Bonnie A. Brown and her husband Donald, of Centre Hall, a half brother, Winston Ripka and his companion, Margaret, of Bellefonte and step-mother, Hilda N. Ripka, of State College.

Earl was a 1962 graduate of State College Area High School.

He was employed by Weis Market and previously employed by Hoss’s Restaurant.

He was a manager for the Baileyville Softball League and enjoyed various sports.

Visitation will be 10 to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 12, 2012 at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 S. Atherton St., State College. A memorial service will follow at 11:30 a.m.at the funeral home with the Rev. Robert Rohrbaugh officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to State College Little League Baseball, Attention President, P.O. Box 244, Lemont, PA 16851.
